Hydroxypropyl cellulose
Product Information
Description
In oral products, hydroxypropyl cellulose is primarily used in tablets as a binder, film coating, and extended-release-matrix former. Hydroxypropyl cellulose is also used in the microencapsulation process and as a thickener. In topical formulations, hydroxypropyl cellulose is used in transdermal patches and ophthalmic preparations. It is also used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in cosmetics and foods.
